Ceylon Hotels Corporation gears for a major re-launch

Ceylon Hotels Corporation (a member of the Galle Face Group and Pioneers of the Sri Lankan hospitality industry), has invested six hundred million rupees to upgrade, refurbish and re-launch its properties in Tissa "The Safari" and "The Surf" in Bentota.

"The Safari" formally known as the Tissa Rest House and "The surf" in Bentota formally known as Lihiniya Surf Hotel have been upgraded to 04 stars + CHC prestige hotel category.

The hotel had the soft opening on 16th December 2010.

The Safari has 60 comfortable luxurious rooms under superior and deluxe categories  overlooking Tissa Weva which adds to the surrounding beauty of the hotel.

This development programme has been launched by Mr. Sanjeev Gardiner, (Chairman of the Galle Face Group) under the guidance of Mr. Lakshman Samarasinghe, (Chairman CHC), in accordance with the vision of his Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa in developing tourism in Sri Lanka and increasing tourist arrivals to the country.

Ceylon Hotels Corporation properties would be developed under the following categories,

1 CHC Prestige Hotels
2 CHC Heritage Hotels
3 CHC Rest

4 CHC Awanhala
Mr. Chethiya Perera a well-known professional in the industry with extensive foreign experience joined the Galle Face Group and the Ceylon Hotels Corporation in May this year in the capacity of Vice President / Director, whilst Mr. Nihal Muhandhiram , Mr. SamanJayawardana and Mr. Nihal Fonseka joined the group as Accommodation services manager , Corporate Executive Chef and the group F & B manager, respectively.

 Mr. Harsha Theverapperuma, Director Operations of the Galle Face Hotel, In addition to his responsibilities, is also involved in the development of the CHC properties situated in the best locations around the island of Sri Lanka.
