Sri Lanka stocks close lower

Jan 25, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka stocks close eased 0.5 percent Tuesday as profit taking drove prices lower, brokers said.

Commercial Bank of Ceylon closed at 282.90 down 1.10 rupees, HNB closed down 90 cents at 392.80 percent, Central Finance closed at 930.0 down 13.80, DFCC Bank closed down 1.70 at 198.20 rupees.

Environmental Resources Investments which said it had sold some platinum stocks extended losses closing down 10.10 rupees at 99.60.

Its W1 warrants closed 9.50 lower at 88.90 rupees, its W2 warrant closed at 49.20 down 7.10 rupees, its W3 warrant closed 44.90 down 7.30 rupees and its W6 rupees closed at 44.20 down 7.90.

Equity One a property firm rose 2.50 to close at 56.00 rupees, Equity Two closed up 80 cents at 26.70 rupees.

Guardian Capital Partners, an investment holding company closed up 300 rupees at 4,300.

Horana Plantations closed up 7.80 rupees at 52.80, HNB Assurance closed up 30 cents at 84.50 rupees and Ceylinco Insurance closed down 14.70 at 465.30 rupees.
