Sri Lanka expects heavy influx of tourists by 2012, official says

Jan 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has said that around four million tourists would visit Sri Lanka in 2012.

Additional Director General of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Dilip Mudadeniya has told the media that the Authority expects an influx of tourists next year that would be equal to 20 percent of the country's population.

Mudadeniya has made this statement at a press conference to announce the All Island National Debating Tournament organized by Royal College.

According to the Tourism Authority 654,476 tourists arrived in Sri Lank during 2010. It was an increase of 46 percent from the previous year.
