Sri Lanka Tourism - We are excited about tourism prospercts in Sri Lanka - Goe

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President for South Asia and Africa Philip Goe said "The airline is excited about the tourism prospects of Sri Lanka,its rich array of tourism resources and natural attractions and the airline is looking forward to working closely with the airline industry partners in Sri Lanka and overseas, to promote travel and tourism to this beautiful country.

Throughout we continue to believe in the tremendous tourism potential in Sri Lanka and since March this year we have increased our flight frequency to daily flights to meet the growing customer demand, he said.

Goh’s visit to Sri Lanka coincided with Singapore Airline’s launch of its A-330 - 300 flight to Colombo.

He said " Today we further demonstrate our commitment with the introduction of a new aircraft and new cabin products to Colombo. We were one of the first international airlines to operate to Colombo around 40 years ago."

The new aircraft and our new cabin products on board will provide an enhanced level of comfort and experience to our customers, Goh said.

The new A 330 will have 30 business class and 255 new generation Singapore Airlines Economy class seats.

The arrival of the new aircraft to Colombo from Singapore was held with much fanfare and the passengers were welcomed on board by Philip Goe and General Manager for the airline in Sri Lanka Melvin Ng, Managing Director of Aitken Spence Aviation, Sashi Ganeshan, the GSA in Sri Lanka and its Public Relations Manager Shihana Cader. Also present were Parakrama Dissanayake, Acting Director General, Civil Aviation Authority, Prasanna Wickramasuriya, Chairman Airport and Aviation Services and kamal Ratwatte, Vice Chairman, Airport and Aviation Services.
