SRI LANKA - COLOMBO STOCK MARKET WAS DOWN MARGINALLY
Turnover for the day was Rs 2.2. b.n. back by strong locals buying in to several counters. However we noticed that when ever the prices of counters which have strong future earnings such as Plantations, Hotels, etc declines, were well backed by bargain hunters.
There were 38 positive contributors as against 112 negative counters today.
Foreign participation was at a low level today. Foreign purchases were Rs 170 m.n. & Foreign sales were at Rs 211 m.n.

CROSSINGS FOR THE DAY
COMPANY PROFIT FIGURES
It was good to see that Hotel company AMAYA has reported profits for the period ended 31/12/2009. We believe that Plantation & Hotel sector companies together it's sub sectors have a very good future ahead as a result of the end of 30 year old civil war in the country.
Today we saw a massive Interim dividend of Rs 15/- declared by CFVF a Janashakthi Group Company.
