13.5 million shares of Kelani Tyres PLC (TYRE), which runs a joint venture with India CEAT group, were traded yesterday in the market, contributing Rs.795 million to the day's turnover.
Brokers believe that the shares traded were owned by the company's third largest shareholder Dr.T Senthilverl who held nearly 13 million shares of the company as at 31 December 2010. The shares were traded at Rs.58-69 range.
Dr. Senthilverl recently upped his stake in Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC over 10 percent in share purchase amounting to 14.7 million shares.
