S.Lanka Telecom full year group net up 407 pct yr/yr

Feb 23 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka's leading fixed line telephone operator Sri Lanka Telecom on Wednesday reported a full-year group net profit of 3.94 billion rupees.

The company said in a statement that profit before tax was 5.96 billion rupees, while profit after tax was 3.94 billion rupees, marking a rise of 407 percent.

The company said it recorded 50.25 billion rupees in revenue in the financial year for the 12 months ending December 31.

Sri Lanka Telecom is the fourth market heavyweight by market capitalisation and the island's leading fixed-line phone operator. A majority of its shares are owned by the government, followed by Malaysian Maxi group. ($1=110. 88 rupees ) (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal)
