Free Lanka gets nod to go public

Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in principle approved an application by Free Lanka Capital Holdings yesterday, for listing its shares in CSE's Diri Savi Board.

Following the approval, the company plans to list 300 million ordinary voting shares at Rs.5.  Subscription list opens on March 15, 2011.

Free Lanka Holdings has business interest in plantations, hydro power, leisure and property. The company recently concluded a pre-IPO private placement of Rs.700 million.

Taprobane holdings and John Keells Capital act as joint Managers to the offer while SSP Corporate Services Limited functions as the Registrars to the offer.

The prospectus to the offer would be delivered to the brokers on March 7.
