Piramal posts Rs.53 mn net profit

Sri Lankan unit of India’s Piramal Glass which enjoys a tax concession recorded a net profit of Rs.141 million for the three months ended June 30, 2011 from Rs.53 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The revenue of the company during the period under consideration exceeded Rs.1.1 billion compared to the Rs.868 million in the same period, last year.

The administrative expenses of the company during the period increased to Rs.85 million from Rs.70 million while finance costs coming down to Rs.59 million from 86 million.

Piramal Glass Ceylon manufactures and markets glass containers ranging from liquor and beer to perfume.
