Nov 04, 2010 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Hayleys conglomerate has bought the Alumex group, a big manufacturer of aluminium extrusions, for 2.185 billion rupees, a stock exchange filing said.
Alutec Anodising & Machine Tools, known as the Alumex group, has five subsidiaries and has a market share of around 55 percent in the local market, Hayleys said in a statement.
Alumex employs about 400 people and has a manufacturing facility on a seven-acre site in the Sapugaskanda industrial park north of Colombo.
