LOLC plans big entry to Jaffna

Lanka Orix Leasing Company (LOLC) Plc one of the highly diversified financial institutions announced yesterday that the company was setting up business in Jaffna at a cost of Rs.100 million offering every aspect of financial service to the residents of Jaffna. Managing Director of LOLC Kapila Jayawardena said, the company had already brought a 40 perch land in the heart of Jaffna town and that the construction of a new state-of-the-art building with five stories was expected to commence next week.

 “Jaffna is one of the fastest growing regions of Sri Lanka and we are committed to serve the people of Jaffna. Our commitment is very high for the region and for that reason we will be coming to Jaffna with our own premises to give a better service to people of Jaffna,” he said.

The Managing Director also said that Jaffna had a lot of potential for the company to grow  and that the company hoped to introduce all financial services to the people of Jaffna including Insurance, factoring, deposit taking and stock brokering.

He further said that the Central Bank Governor Ajith N. Cabraal was expected to lay the foundation stone for the new building on Thursday, 21 October.
