Carsons won't sell Watapota

Carsons Group has decided not to sell its shareholding in the Watapota PLC a Colombo Stock Market announcement said.

Watapota PLC's major shareholder Carson Cumberbatch PLC received voluntary offer and various other offers for its shareholding in the company. After evaluating all the offers they received from various parties the Director Board of Carsons decided not to sell its shareholding in the Watapota PLC.

Capital Alliance Holdings Ltd made voluntary offer to purchase all of the shares of the company at Rs 40.60 per share.

Client of IIFL Securities Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd made a offer to purchase entire shareholding of Carsons in the company at Rs 81.20 per share. Another offer was made to purchase 57 percent of the shares of the Watapota out of Carsons shareholding a share at a Rs 83 (price and percentage negotiable). There was a offer from client of Acuity Stock Broker to purchase entire shareholdings of the company hold by Carsons for Rs 89.40 per share.
