SRI LANKA - OVER 5000 FRENCH TOURISTS TO ARRIVE SRI LANKA

Antipodes Voyages of France Chairman Alain Clavel and Director Frank Manin arrived in Colombo as guests of the Galadari Hotel on Monday and were welcomed by Galadari Hotel General Manager Sampath Siriwardena and Chandana Ediriweera from Ceylon Tours. Antipodes Voyages recently signed an agreement with SriLankan Airlines to bring 5,000 French tourists from France for the 2010/11 seasons.

This contract ensures a minimum of 120 tourists each week on SriLankan Airlines from Paris for a whole year. Export Promotion and International Trade Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris who had initial meetings with Antipodes Airlines in September in Lyon and actively encouraged them to invest in Sri Lanka as a preferred tourist destination and use it as a tourist hub for their operations in South East Asia initiated this.

The management of Antipodes is here in Sri Lanka for a week, to have further discussions with the Minister, SriLankan Airlines, Hoteliers, Airport Authorities and others linked to the travel industry.
