SRI LANKA - COLOMBO SHARES DOWN BY 0.68 % ON RETAIL SELLING. FOREIGNERS NET BUYERS

                  DAILY MARKET REVIEW

 09/03/2010 - Colombo Share Market was down due to profit taking today. ASI was down by 26.05 points to close at 3809.01 & the more liquid Milanka index was down by 11.57 points to close at 4382.32.

Turnover for the day was Rs 627 m.n.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining . Today there was a net foreign inflow of Rs 64 m.n.for the second consecutive day. Foreigners purchased shares to the value of Rs 127 m.n. & sold shares worth of Rs 63 m.n.

Today all most all sectors reported negative gains,except for the Investment trust,Beverage,Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals.Investment trust sector led the gainers list in the sectors.

There were only 29 gainers as against 101 losers.

Colombo Stock Exchange  is still up 12.5 percent so far this year.

  • Today touch wood shares came down sharply due to a communique issued by the Accounting & auditing standards monitoring board.
  • Coco lanka both N class & X class has a strong support levels around Rs 40 & Rs 30 levels respectively.
