Retail interest on Colombo Land continues

Colombo Land and Development continued to be the darling of the retailers at the Colombo bourse yesterday as well as heavy trading was witnessed during the market hours.

For the day alone, 14.4 million shares traded, contributing Rs.488 million as the number one contributor to the day’s turnover. The average price the share traded was Rs.34.

The share closed at Rs.34.90 with no sellers on the board, up by 9.7 per cent for the day, as the share was limited by 10 per cent price band.

Only two trades were seen in excess of 100,000 shares with zero crossings.

For the last two days around 46 million shares traded in the Colombo bourse.

The controlling stake of the Colombo Land Development, the Liberty Plaza owning company was acquired by Dilith-Varuni duo’s special investment vehicle Emagewise and subsidiaries of Citrus Leisure Plc, which the duo control through Emagewise.
