Sep 09, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lankan stocks closed almost stagnant Friday with interest in shares that had been subject to speculative trading in recent weeks, brokers said.
The main All Share Price Index fell 0.02 percent (1.27 points) to 6,990.33, while the more liquid Milanka index fell 0.11 percent (6.72 points) to close at 6,286.93, according to stock exchange figures.
Turnover was 3.3 billion rupees.
Renuka Agri Foods was the most activelt traded stock, closing at 6.90 rupees, down 70 cents, with 21.5 million shares done, after hitting a high of 8.10.
PC House was also actively traded, closing at 19.70 rupees, up 30 cents, with 28.4 million shares changing hands.
Blue Diamonds Jewellery Woldwide was among the actively traded stocks, closing at 11.90 rupees, up 60 cents, with 13.6 million shares done.
Vallibel One, which was also heavily traded, closed at 29 rupees, up 10 cents, with 6.9 million shares done.
There were three crossings or off-market private deals of Vallibel One, two of a total of three million shares at 29 rupees each and one of 1,045,000 shares at 28.90 rupees each.
Environmental Resources Investments closed at 70.50 rupees, up 3.20, with six million shares traded. There was one crossing of 4.5 million shares at 68 rupees each.
