June 11, 2012 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stock prices edged up Monday, on slim volumes with selected buying across blue chips counters, brokers said.
The broader All Share Price Index gained 12.74 points or 0.26 percent to 4,811.44 while the liquid Milanka Price Index rose 17.62 points or 0.41 percent to close at 4,264.38, according to Colombo Stock Exchange figures.
Monday’s turnover of 153.43 million rupees, was dominated by conglomerate John Keells Holdings PLC.
JKH counter rose 1.30 rupees to 180.00 rupees on volumes of 146,832 shares.
Carsons, with investments ranging from oil palms to beer manufacturing, was flat at 467.00 rupees on trades of 43,046 shares.
Bukit Darah, a Carson managed oil plantation company, rose 19.80 rupees to 740.00 rupees on trades of 4,488 shares.
