Ceylon Brewery to change name

Casrsons owned Ceylon Brewery PLC (BREW) in a filling to stock exchange yesterday said that the company board resolved on 4 May 2011 to change its existing name to Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC.

The announcement added that it called for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) for the purpose.

A 74% owned subsidiary of Carsons group, Ceylon Brewery PLC is the country’s single largest brewing and retailing operator of Carlsberg and Lion, and owns 50% of Lion Brewery Ceylon PLC (LION) and a 22% of South Asian BreweriesPte Ltd - Singapore (SABL), which in turn wholly owns Carlsberg India Private Limited in India.
