French cruiser Le-diamant arrived in Trincomalee with 70 tourists marking the first such arrival after the end of the military operations in the north and east.
The tourists were welcomed by Deputy Harbour Master Lakshi Wasantha.
The tourists will be able to open their tour in Sri Lanka from Trincomalee, instead of the previous arrangement where they landed in Colombo and started their tour, a tour guide in the area explained.
He said that earlier they had to travel back to areas such as Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura and even Trincomalee from Colombo. Pic by Amadoru Amarajeewa.
