Asiri in Rs. 66mn acquisition

Asiri Hospitals PLC acquired Digasiri Medical Services (Pvt) Ltd for Rs. 66 million, the company said in stock exchange filing yesterday.

The Board of Directors had approved the acquisition of the entire share capital of Digasiri at a consideration of Rs. 66 million as it was within the company’s expansion policy while properties acquired by Digasiri were strategically situated.

"Digasiri has acquired leasehold rights of two acre land in Peradeniya, Kandy from Urban Development Authority Kandy and Colombo Commercial Company (Engineering) Limited. The UDA and the Kandy Municipal Council have granted preliminary approval to construct a hospital on this land," the company said.

The present directors of Digasiri are A. K. Pandithage, Dr. K. M. P. Karunaratne and Ms. D. Wimalasundera.
