JKL’s net up 9% in June

Sri Lanka’s John Keells PLC’s (JLK) June 2011 quarter profits went up 9 percent to Rs.67 million against the same quarter in the previous year.

For year ended March 31, the firm recorded a net profit of Rs.814 million, largely helped by a change in fair value of investment property.

Earnings Per share for the period under consideration went up slightly to Rs.6.10 from Rs.6, last year’s corresponding quarter.

According to a segmental analysis provided with the quarterly accounts, the operating profits of the warehousing and real estate operations of the company had gone up, while the share brokering segment saw downfall in profits.
